Breaking something in a shop.

I was in Singapore recently and went to a shopping mall with a friend. We came across this shop that sold random stuff. I’ve been to that shop a few times and never bought anything, but we went in anyway. We were the only ones in that shop apart from the two shopkeepers, and it was a relatively small shop too.
I was looking around the shop when my friend showed me this thing.

Or at least something like it. Basically, it’s used massage your back, and you can fold it to make it straight. So when you unfold it and make it a V-shape like in the picture, it will vibrate and you can use it to massage your back.
So she shows it to me and asks me to look at it. I unfolded the thing and it started vibrating for a bit and it stopped. So I thought maybe I have to unfold it until something clicks for it to vibrate continuously right? And I swear, I didn’t even do it so hard, but when I unfolded it again, it snapped. Almost immediately.
My friend panicked and was probably confused, so she just shouted my name, “FABIAN!”
I looked at the thing for a second and realized it wasn’t supposed to snap. Now, I’m thinking “crap, now I have to pay for this.” I looked at the two shopkeepers, but oddly they didn’t seem to notice. They were both by the cash register still talking to each other. So naturally, like the ninja that I am, I ‘folded’ the thing back in to make it look like it’s fine, and put it down to where we found it.
And guess what? We didn’t even get outta there immediately. To make it seem normal, we walked around the shop for 5 seconds and then slowly walked out. Without looking back, we disappeared into the crowd..
I felt like a hitman whose just finished his job. Flawless, untraceable, efficient.
